摘要:There has been much controversy over the years about the ability of psychiatry to maintain medical-scientific standards comparable to those of other medical specialties. The most recent trend, based on a strong criticism of the latest edition of the dsm, focuses on trying to characterize mental disorders on the basis of neuroscience while abandoning all other approaches. The article reviews this trend and proposes a multidimensional approach, emphasizing the investigation, with tools from phenomenology, of the experiential nature of many psychopathological disorders, especially psychoses, and showing their compatibility with the neuroscientific approach.
