  • 摘要:On November 10, 1810, almost seven weeks after the first session of the Courts of Cádiz, the freedom of the press was signed. This event caused the publication of many printed leaflets and papers, aggravating the ideological dispute between liberals and absolutists. Many authors used literary structures, with content ranging from a patriotic message to a political invective. Here is included the theatre work “Los liberales o los filósofos del día, sin máscara y sin rebozo”, published in Cádiz in 1811. Several characters, with the Devil Cojuelo as the leader, decide to work as modern writers. For this purpose, they follow some rules based on the repetition of deceptive words, attacks on the clergy and the Holy Office, and corporatism against satire adversary. Censinato Vigornia, conservative flock representative, criticised each enemy argument, in order to reinforce the real patriotism and discredit the liberal thoughts.
