摘要:Meconial periorchitis is a rare disease caused by meconial peritonitis. This condition is due to inflammation produced by meconium on peritesticular tissue secondary to intrauterine intestinal perforation for any cause. Heterogeneous calcifications may appear in the peritoneal cavity and/or scrotum. This disease can be diagnosed by prenatal ultrasound based on echographic findings reducing neonatal morbidity and mortality. We report the case of a fetus with meconial periorchitis. Fetal ultrasound at 36 weeks of pregnancy showed fetal ascites associated with bilateral hydrocele and calcifications within scrotum. Abdominal distention was observed after birth. The simple radiography showed the presence of intraabdominal air accompanied by abdominal and scrotal calcifications. Intestinal perforation was found and ileostomy was performed. Scrotum exploration showed both testicles were seen surrounded by greenish fluid around the testicular tunic. Fluid drainage and bilateral inguinal herniorrhaphy were performed.
