Legal information literacy has become more important with the inclusion of ICT in legal education and research. American Association of Law Libraries has approved the Law Students Research Competencies and Information Literacy Principles in 2011. This paper is an attempt to know the status of involvement and the activities of librarians in law universities for the development of legal information literacy skills of law students. It is found that majority of the librarians (80%) are involved in various types of activities using different methods of instructions and covering various topics. The paper concludes that academic law librarians in India are involved in activities to support legal information literacy but instruction programme should be undertaken in collaboration with academic staff to ensure proper examples and explanations.
