摘要:Black flies in the El Haï River Basin in the southern Aurès of Algeria were sampled at 5 sites along the main river from January 2008 to December 2009. Six nominal species in two genera, Simulium Latreille, 1802 and Metacnephia Crosskey, 1969 were identified among 1760 specimens (larvae and pupae). The spatial and temporal distributions of the black fly species in the study area were evaluated. During the study period, floods devastated all the sampling sites in October 2008 and February 2009, and one station (Tilatou) showed considerable organic pollution. The results of physicochemical analyses, conducted to correlate environmental factors with the distributions of the inventoried species, showed that the waters of oued El Haï were moderately polluted by discharge from the local towns and were influenced by the watershed geology (e.g., limestone, gypsum). The local simuliid fauna was associated with well-oxygenated waters of medium current velocity.
