The research evaluated the effect of two types of waste leaching of pineapple and banana, on the plant growth and yield of rice in the system of rice intensification (SRI). The treatments were five concentrations of banana and pineapple leachates: 0 %, 5 %, 10 %, 15 % and 20 %. The experiment was set up in a split plot design. The plant growth variables evaluated were height and number of productive tillers. For these variables there were no significant differences between the leachates. Regarding grain yield, differences were not significant between leachates, but the highest average yield was obtained with the banana leachates, 4148 kg/ha, as compared to pineapple leachates which yielded 3744 kg/ha. There were also no significant differences between the concentrations, but the best yields were obtained with the banana and pineapple leachates both at a concentration of 15 %, of 4830 kg/ha and 4710 kg/ha, respectively.
