其他摘要:The purpose of this paper is to clarify educational meanings of film appreciation and to propose an experimental plan applicable to the classroom. This paper is comprised of three parts : (1) historical review of the concept of film education in Japan, (2) educational meanings of film education, and (3) artistic ideas on film appreciation and proposal of the experimental process of film appreciation. Each part contains the following discussion. (1) The author explains how the concept of film education has been changed and how film education has been related to art and art education in Japan. (2) Recently, no one doubts that there are achievements of film works and the accumulation of academic studies on film arts. The author points out that especially the younger generations have no hesitation in appreciating film works not only as entertainment but also as art. (3) What should be learned? How? By focusing on the two fundamental ideas, totality and reality which are considered to be important for deepening and broadening students' understandings on film works, the author proposes the experimental plan of film appreciation process.
