摘要：O principal objetivo da presente investigação é a compreensão da prevalência da depressão nos doentes hemodialisados, e qual a sua relação com a imagem corporal e a sexualidade. A amostra é constituída por 67 doentes hemodialisados (39 homens e 28 mulheres), com uma média de idades de 67,2 anos (DP = 13,43). Para a recolha de dados foi utilizado um questionário sociodemográfico, a versão portuguesa do Inventário da Depressão de Beck II, a versão portuguesa da Escala da Imagem Corporal e a Subescala de Satisfação com a Sexualidade. Verificou‐se que as habilitações literárias e a insatisfação corporal parecem ter um papel importante para o desenvolvimento da depressão, com os participantes com menos habilitações e mais insatisfeitos com o seu corpo a apresentarem níveis mais elevados de depressão. Foi encontrada uma associação negativa entre a idade e a insatisfação corporal. Não se verificaram efeitos do sexo em nenhuma das variáveis estudadas. Encontrou‐se um impacto negativo da hemodiálise na depressão, insatisfação corporal e na satisfação com a sexualidade. Estes resultados alertam para a importância da intervenção psicológica na população de insuficientes renais crónicos submetidos à hemodiálise, sobretudo na insatisfação corporal e depressão. Relativamente à sexualidade, apesar de no nosso estudo não terem sido encontradas associações com outras variáveis, parece ser uma dimensão a merecer atenção numa amostra mais extensa, para melhor se compreender o seu impacto e relação com outras dimensões psicológicas.
其他摘要：The main objective of this research is to understand the prevalence of depression in hemodialysis patients and what is its relationship with body image and sexuality. The sample consisted of 67 hemodialysis patients (39 men and 28 women) with a mean age of 67.2 years (SD = 13.43). For data collection a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Portuguese version of the Beck Depression Inventory II, the Portuguese version of the Body Image Scale and the subscale of Satisfaction with Sexuality were used. It was found that the educational level and body dissatisfaction seem to have an important role in the development of depression, with participants with lower educational levels and more dissatisfied with their body to report higher levels of depression. A negative association between age and body dissatisfaction was found. There were no sex effects in any of the variables studied. A negative impact of hemodialysis in depression, body dissatisfaction and satisfaction with sexuality was also found. These results emphasize the importance of intervention in the chronic renal failure population of undergoing hemodialysis, especially in body dissatisfaction and depression. With regard to sexuality, although in our study associations with other variables were not found, it seems to be a dimension deserving attention in a more extensive sample in order to better understand their impact and relationship with other psychological dimensions.
