摘要:Reflection, experience, practice and research converge in this lived experience paper. Adoptees are marked with an invisible difference, a virtually unrecognizable otherness that they bring with them into the classroom. Adoptees often spend a lifetime feeling the absence of their severed biological ties, awareness of the void created in their sense of self, and masking the ineffaceable marks that adoption has marred them with. This reflection was written to raise awareness and to highlight some of the challenges that adoptees can face when they take a seat in your classroom.
