摘要:My association with the Journal of Public Health in Africa (JPHiA) has been as brief as the journal is young. I have had the privilege of seeing this journal grow from being just a twinkle in the eye of one of its founding editors. I am glad that a young researcher from Africa has had the courage to start the journal. Africa generally has a very young demographic profile, and the future of the continent lies in the hands of its youth. Understanding this aspect of the large-scale context of public health is of course one way that countries, institutions, individual researchers, and publishers can see where their priorities lie, for public health in the near-to-long term future....
