摘要：Normal 0 21 false false false PT-BR X-NONE X-NONE The purpose of this article is to analyze the institutions that could explain the historical poverty verified in microrregion Pitanga (PR). The method used was a literature search to define a theoretical and methodological framework based on the contributions of the institutional economist Douglass North and subsequently to analyze the peculiarities of development of this region.
