摘要:The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of different physical forms of feed, pelleted and branny, on the performance and the carcass parameters of growing rabbits. For this purpose, 48 rabbits of both sexes were used, weaned at the age of 35 days. The types of commercial feed were identical in their composition, only their physical form was different, constituting the two treatments. Weight gain, feed intake, feed/weight gain ratio, carcass yield, and carcass, skin, head, legs, liver, lungs, and heart weights were determined. A completely randomized study design was used, with a 2 x 2 (two treatments x two sexes) factorial arrangement, with 4 replicates for feed intake and feed/weight-gain ratio, and 12 replicates for the other parameters. The treatment had a significant effect on the weight gain and the feed/weight gain ratio, but its effect on feed intake was not significant. Regarding the other parameters, no weight differences were observed for the heart, lungs, legs, and for the carcass yield. We therefore concluded that, although the pelleted feed showed a better performance, branny feed can be used for growing rabbits. Key words: carcass; diet; feed intake; physical forms; weight gain.
