摘要：This paper presents Master's search results in Information Science and deals with the identification of the profile and the skills needed to librarian who works in vocational and technological education. It was used for data collection, quantitative and qualitative method, applied through structured questionnaire. The sample consisted of twelve librarians who work at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Goiás. The study presents approaches on the profile of contemporary librarian, competence and expertise of professional information and notes after the data analysis , the librarian profile and skills that they deem necessary for the exercise of their activities are in accordance with the profile and skills highlighted in the literature.
