摘要：Focuses on S&T policies in Brazil, highlighting the role of the Periodical Portal Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (Capes). Through an exploratory study / literature review, presents the history and evolution of the activities performed by the Portal. The paper reviews the concepts of public policies on access to information in Brazil, with emphasis on the Portal of Capes, being considered the greatest public policy initiative of access to information on S & T in Brazil, aiming to provide data access in terms of Brazil, Paraíba, Pernambuco and the Northeast. We conclude that there must be an intense and continuous work to modernize the platform through the addition of content, but also the line with the requirements of usability and accessibility.
