摘要:El presente trabajo de investigación, tiene como finalidad evaluar la relación entre orientación y las capacidades cognitivas en personas con discapacidad intelectual a través de pruebas de la modalidad deportiva de orientación, tras la realización de un plan de intervención con los sujetos en el que se van a entrenar estas capacidades. La muestra está formada por 15 alumnos con discapacidad intelectual del Colegio de Educación Especial “PROA” de la ciudad de Cáceres, con edades comprendidas entre los 15- 22 años. Se realizó una prueba de orientación al comienzo de la intervención (Pre-Test), y tras varias sesiones de entrenamiento específico del deporte de orientación, los sujetos debían realizar nuevamente la misma prueba (Post- Test), con el fin de cuantificar las posibles mejoras en el rendimiento de los participantes. Los resultados muestran que las personas con discapacidad intelectual experimentan una mejora en el rendimiento en una prueba de orientación adaptada tras un entrenamiento específico.
