摘要：This paper investigates the influence of the capital (economic, social and cultural) on the expectation to get into the labor market of students of the Administration Course from Institutions of Superior Education (IESs) located in Feira de Santana, in the State of Bahia. It is based on Bourdieu´s concepts that questions the causality between education and social mobility. For the author, the privileged economic, social and cultural classes offer higher chances for their descendants to get higher positions in the labor market. Therefore, the less privileged students reduce their professional expectations, since they are not able to get higher returns from their academic certificate. From questionnaires applied in seven IESs between January and March 2014, 527 answers were obtained. The data was analyzed using the factor and regression analysis. As a conclusion, it was identified a relationship between the students’ social and economic background and their professional expectations.
