摘要：It is understood in this article, analyze aspects that articulate the contest, while process of selective sorting of admission in the public magisterium in Santa Catarina in the second half of the twentieth century. The period was defined using as base the expansion of the teaching that, in this State, gains strength in the middle of the twentieth century. To compose the fonts, it fetches, in the memory of African descents teachers who joined the public magisterium in the 1960s, reports that helps reset this process and uncover the contest contributions as mechanism of democratization, even though the politic scenery goes forward for a Strong repression. In the documentation of the State and in the discussions of social movements are announced the join by contest as a democratic selection mode to access public positions.
