摘要：In any organization securing the hardware, software and firmware is relatively easy; it is the human factor that causes security experts the biggest challenge. The human element is usually the weakest link in the security chain. Even with the advancement of technology over time, security has eluded us because the silicon based products have to interface with carbon-based units. This paper explores various social engineering attack methods, factors that make the attacks successful, motives behind the attacks and also gives recommendations on how the social engineering threat level can be reduced. The study was conducted within an insurance company.
