摘要:This article describes the theoretical and methodological basis that is fundamental to the elaboration, application and evaluation of a training program for active citizenship specifically designed for women. The program, which is being developed under the auspices of the University of Barcelona, is based in the methodology of participatory action research, which allows for the research subjects’ participation in the entire process, including the evaluation. The research confirms the necessity of creating spaces for citizenship participation that foster the rights and responsibilities of participation, allow people to acquire the necessary citizenship competencies in order to have an active presence in the public sphere, and promote a type of civic identity based in dialogue and in the value of solidarity.
