摘要：PARTY SURVIVAL: STRATEGI MERAIH KURSI DI ERA REFORMASI Party Survival: The Strategies to Achieve Seats In The Reform Era Asep Nurjaman Jurusan Ilmu Pemerintahan, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang Email: [email protected] ABSTRACT Party struggle in the changing aspiration trigger a new format in a political party known as the catch-all party. Position is the polar dichotomy between the party elite and mass party. This format more pragmatism and rationality as the pillars of a democratic political system. With the principle of pragmatism and rationality is possible for people to think about the politics without cliches, not imprisoned of ideology, so that people are able to address various issues without preconceptions, without distortion idologis, and without the rigidity being partisan. Keywords: Political Parties, Pragmatism, Catch-all, Voice ABSTRAK Perjuangan partai dalam menjaring aspirasi yang berkembang, telah melahirkan format baru dalam partai politik yang dikenal dengan catch-all party. Posisinya berada di antara kutub dikotomi partai elit dan partai massa. Format ini mengagungkan pragmatisme dan rasionalitas sebagai pilar penyangga sistem politik yang demokratis. Dengan prinsip pragmatisme dan rasionalitas ini dimungkinkan bagi masyarakat untuk berpikir tentang “politik tanpa alur” (politics without cliches), tidak menjadi tawanan ideologi, sehingga masyarakat mampu menyikapi berbagai masalah tanpa prakonsepsi, tanpa distorsi idologis, dan tanpa kekakuan bersikap partisan.
