摘要:This paper offers some reflections on the insertion of women’s volleyball in the sports field from studies of Pinheiro (1995), Pizzolato (2004), Marchi Jr. (2004); Afonso (2004), Costa (2005), Vlastuin (2008) e Moreira (2009). Through a qualitative and exploratory research, we identify key points that have supported our sociological interpretation based on the theory of Reflexive Sociology of Pierre Bourdieu. We note that the historical and social changes of the women’s volleyball in the Brazilian sports field occurred between habitus built on historical effects of symbolic domination of men over women’s volleyball, legitimized their positions in the sports field.
