摘要:The main objective of this work is to identify and describe (through a cybermetric analysis of user mentions) the intensity and evolution of the relationships between companies in a particular industry (technology) through their corresponding corporate Twitter accounts, with the purpose of checking the value that a metric analysis like this may offer for determining the web connectivity between these companies. For this purpose, we have quantified the number of mentions, both direct (MT) and ReTweets (RT), between the Twitter accounts of a sample of 50 international companies during a period of six months. The results indicate that the degree of interaction among the 50 technology companies is weak (whether we count the number of connections established or quantify the strength of these connections), stable, concentrated in a few specific relations, and sharply asymmetrical. Given the low interactivity found, we conclude that the corporate Twitter accounts of technology companies are not sufficient for analyzing the web connectivity established between them from a metric viewpoint, although they are useful for understanding the official communication policies between them.
