摘要：The power of women, in particular the power of queens, has been a topic of great interest to historians, medievalists in particular; though much has been written about the subject, many questions remain. “Three Violantes” will look at the role of two Iberian queens and one Spanish princess in the thirteenth century Iberian kingdoms. In England and in other European kingdoms of that time, queens had lost authority and their agency was limited to the power of intercession and mediation, I will try to determine whether this also holds true for the Iberian queens.
