摘要:According to Tillich, Catholic Substance and Protestant Principle are complementary and correct themselves mutually. Sacraments, community and real authority, essential for life, are Catholic substance elements. Protestant principle comprehends the protest against the attempt of every system to identify itself with the "unconditional". Although the original prophetic message of Protestantism, the justification by faith, represents a protest against the hierarchical system of Catholic Church; in Protestantism, particularly in Presbyterianism, new absolute authorities arise, such as the Bible, considered "unique norm of faith and pratice", as well as the confessions of faith. Protestant principle might consequently lead its protest to Protestantism itself.
