摘要:Textbooks are somewhat criticized but they hold potential to contribute to improve teaching and learning of the several curriculum components. However, Physical Education has been away from that resource, with some isolated initiatives for its use. This study aimed to recognize, in the literature, what factors have contributed to establish the gap between Physical Education and textbooks, and which views have recently emerged in the field on textbooks. We conclude that Physical Education’s historical legacy is one of the main drivers of that gap, but it has recently began to be minimized by efforts to think, debate and use textbooks in the field.
