摘要：Art is a privileged way to express social representations, particularly the imaginary and affective dimensions. At the same time, art is the space where new social representations stem and transform themselves. In the modern context, it is inevitable to bind present with future, because to be modern is break with the past. Future, then, appears in the artistic creation. It stems attached to a approach to the industrailized, urban, reality, that is condensed in the representations of the cities. In this article, two relevant moments when future becomes a represented issue in art are analyzed: the first one was developed during the artistic vanguards in the early XX Century; and the second one is developing now, with the inclusion of three elements: tecnology, sustainability and cultural mundialization in art.
