摘要:This paper proposes some ideas on urban dérive , such as we have practiced in university teaching (Schools of Architecture), and is also at the service of research on the urban environment by groups engaged in social struggles for the defense and improvement of the city. The advantage of this technique is more than instrumental, from the moment that it involves a different way of being and moving, a different way of being a citizen. When it is revealed that other types of movement and experience are possible in the heart of the city, thought itself is deployed as invention and critique. Although our approach differs from other practices, it shares their indication of what might be called 'free' or 'independent movement'. This would be in contrast to "captured" or "captive" movement. First we discuss some elementary notions on this way of exploring (and in some way reinventing) the city, linking its characteristics of physical movement and its implications for the practitioner. Second, we expand the view to consequences and convergence in various areas of knowledge (then becoming another type of movement, thinking). Thirdly, we examine this from the perspective of biopolitics, which facilitates our later reference to its opposite in the merchandise city, imprisoned movement.
