摘要：This paper examines the use of commercially-available prescription drug profiles in the underwriting of individual and small-group health insurance plans. It explains how these profiles are developed and used by insurers and analyzes their potential advantages and disadvantages to both insurers and consumers. Current and pending legislation and regulations governing the use of these prescription databases are also explained.
