摘要：It is here presented the investigation of the libri compiled during the sixteenth century by two small Ligurian communities of the Ponente : Rezzo, ruled by the Clavesana marquises, and Porto Maurizio, directly depending from Genoa, the town that issued some of the most ancient libri iurium in Italy. Both articulated in dossier , the two cases represent opposite solutions. The Rezzo single codex registers in a volume every act concerning the common life of the local community: organised from the beginning for a collective purpose, it ends up being a closed and well defined collection of public written records. The first book of Porto Maurizio on the contrary gradually grows up thanks to following additions, as an open container for other collections to come. The influence of Genoa, which is slowly asserting its authority over the region, is definitely clear in its redaction. The aim of the paper is to focus on a group of sources that until now have been little investigated and that look very promising in revealing both the capacity of local self-government and the relationship between the community and the reference town.
