摘要:This paper presents a proposal of a complexity approach to second language teaching, having as starting point the studies of Larsen-Freeman (1997), Larsen-Freeman and Cameron (2008), Paiva (2005, 2009), and Borges (2009). Art first, it presents a historical review of second language teaching approaches followed by a discussion on language and second language acquisition as complex adaptive systems, and also on the nature of teaching/learning in the perspective of complexity theory. Finally, the proposal is made, expanding components provided by Larsen-Freeman and Cameron (2008) in order to contemplate a variety of essential elements in a complex view of language teaching approach to second language.
