摘要：The paper deals with alternative ways of using logging residues and mechanical soil preparation, and their impact on the growth of pine seedlings. The research was conducted at acidic sites of natural pine forests. The growth of pine plants was assessed on the research areas where four treatments such as burning of logging residues on the site, removal of logging residues and its energetic use, bunching of logging residues into heaps, and chipping of wood residues on the site were applied. Further, a large-scale ploughing of soil was performed to prepare site for planting in all treatments. Each second plot was fertilized with wood ash. Pine plants showed the best growth in treatment where logging residues were chipped and distributed across the whole area. Fertilizing by wood ash also showed a positively affected diameter and height increments of plants on very poor sites.
