摘要：Reflects on the record control knowledge by the systems of information retrieval, drawing a parallel between the advantages and disadvantages of manual and automated control. For this study shows in libraries: the Center for Science & Technology - URCA Juazeiro do Norte, Crato Municipal Public Library, Libraries of the Federal Institute of Ceará Campus Juazeiro do Norte and Crato Campus, Library Journal Diário do Nordeste - Fortaleza. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires sent by email to the institutions Observations were made based on qualitative analysis, focusing on the control of its records and information retrieval. Concludes by presenting the relevant aspects and suggest improvements to apply to the institutions mentioned here, the reflections contributing library sciences. Keywords: Information Retrieval.
