Kotzab addresses the consultants's view on the concept of supply
chain management.
The book is simple and easy to grasp. Small caselets at the end of
the chapter make the comprehension of the concept effortless. Indian
caselets helps in the appreciation of the Indian environment and
dynamics. The unique characteristics of the book are the dedicated
chapters on the industry especially pharmaceutical, oil and gas, FMCG
and Fashion which make the integration and the application to the
industry part crystal clear. It give the students an exposure of very
diverse industries and also grasp the common thread. The book includes
is illustrative and includes a lot of flowcharts and graphs which acts
as an enabler for understanding the concept. The MCQ's at the end
of the chapters are quick test for evaluating the understanding of the
concept in a class room situation.
The references provided in the book are quite exhaustive and give a
link for the students who want to learn the advance concepts.
The book however lacks in the quantitative rigor. The theoretical
build up is not provided and thus does not address the need of
researchers . It is recommended for the beginners in the area of SCM.
