  • 摘要:In the context of a family owned company, the general literature recognizes that the interaction between the family and the company is one of the main constituting and influential dimensions of the dynamics within these organizations in regards to the succession process. The main objective is to analyze the process of socialization between members of a business family and their influence in the dynamic constitution of the succession process. For such, a qualitative approach was adopted based on the technique of case study, conducted in a company in the pharmaceutical and retail sector with more than 100 years of operations in Belo Horizonte. From the interviews conducted with the researched subjects it was possible to observe that the early insertion of the successor-heir in the company dynamics allowed for him to be projected as the guardian of the family values, bearer of externally recognized competencies, depositary of the legacy and responsible for the continuity of the family. All of these capacities have contributed to legitimize the heir-successors in the process of succession of the researched company.
