摘要：This article is a brief historical comment about de concept of region. It analyses the use of this concept in Geography and discusses some alternatives and possibilities of it in Geographic Sciences and other Human and Social Sciences. Our main goal is to disclose and comment basic debates about the subject and not exhaustive analyses on it. This article intends to be a starting point for students and professionals who are trying to assume in their studies and research the spatial dimension and are not experts in Geography.
