标题：Investigating Collective and Individual Dynamics—Towards an Interpretative Social ResearchSensitive to History and Process

摘要：In diesem Beitrag konzentriere ich mich auf die Vorteile einer konsequent durchgeführten interpretativen oder rekonstruktiven Sozialforschung gegenüber anderen qualitativen Verfahren und verdeutliche, inwiefern wir diese Vorteile noch konsequenter verfolgen können als bisher. Dabei stellen sich die folgenden Fragen: Was können wir mit wenigen, aber aufwendigen Fallrekonstruktionen mit dem Ziel einer "theoretischen Verallgemeinerung" am Einzelfall im Unterschied zu qualitativen Verfahren mit umfangreichen Stichproben leisten, die eher eine numerische oder quantitative Verallgemeinerung zum Ziel haben? Inwiefern kommen wir damit überhaupt zu "allgemeinen" Aussagen über die soziale (kollektive und individuelle) Wirklichkeit, über eine bestimmte Gruppierung, Organisation oder Ortsgemeinde, einen kollektiver Konflikt, ein bestimmtes Milieu oder soziales Netzwerk? Bei der Behandlung dieser Fragen geht es mir vor allem um ein Plädoyer für eine methodisch stärker historisch und prozess-soziologisch orientierte interpretative Sozialforschung. M.E. liegen in einer konsequenten Rekonstruktion der Verläufe und Wandlungsprozesse von einzelnen "Fällen" und ihrer Verflechtungen mit anderen "Fällen" die Chancen für eine wirklich empirisch geerdete Theorieentwicklung. Intento mostrar cómo podríamos ser capaces de beneficiarnos de estas ventajas de forma más consistente y amplia de lo que hemos hecho hasta ahora. Se plantearán las siguientes preguntas: ¿Qué somos capaces de lograr con el análisis intensivo de un pequeño número de casos? ¿Cuáles son las ventajas de las "generalizaciones teóricas" basadas en casos específicos en comparación con los procedimientos cualitativos que tienen como objetivo una generalización numérica o cuantitativa? ¿Hasta qué punto somos capaces de llegar a conclusiones más adecuadas y más completas sobre la realidad social (individual y colectiva); por ejemplo, una determinada agrupación, una organización en particular, un conflicto colectivo, una ciudad, un entorno o una red social? Al responder a estas preguntas, hago un llamado para una investigación interpretativa cada vez más histórica y sociológica. En mi opinión, las posibilidades para una verdadera "teoría fundamentada" sobre la base de trabajo empírico, se encuentran en la reconstrucción más detallada de los procesos de cambio, incluyendo procesos de largo plazo, para determinados "casos" y sus interrelaciones con otros "casos". 其他摘要：In my contribution I focus on the advantages of rigorous interpretative or reconstructive social research in comparison to other qualitative methods. I attempt to show how we might be able to benefit from these advantages more consistently and extensively than we have so far. The following questions shall be asked: What are we able to achieve by intensive analysis of a small number of cases? What are the advantages of "theoretical generalizations" based on specific cases in comparison to qualitative procedures which aim for a numerical or quantitative generalization? To what extend are we able to arrive at more apt and more comprehensive conclusions about social (both collective and individual) reality; for example, a certain grouping, a particular organization, collective conflict, city, milieu or social network? In answering these questions, I make a plea for interpretative research becoming more historical and process-sociological. In my opinion, the chances for an actual "grounded theory" on the basis of empirical work lie in the more thorough reconstruction of processes of changes, including long-term processes, for particular "cases" and their interrelations with other "cases."
