摘要：Em 1973, Georges Canguilhem publica, na Encyclopédie Universalis, um extenso verbete histórico do conceito “Vida” na biologia e nas ciências da vida. A seguinte tradução do verbete é baseada na segunda edição, reimpressão publicada em 1989, nas páginas 546-553.
其他摘要：In 1973, Georges Canguilhem published a detailed historical entry on the concept of “Life” in biology and the life sciences for the French-language Encyclopédie Universalis. The following translation in Portuguese of the encyclopedia entry is based on the second edition, a reprint of the first, published in 1989, on pages 546 553.
