摘要:Reading comprehension is one of the most deficient language skills in Brazilian population (SCLIAR-CABRAL, 2009). Researchers in Neuropsicolinguistics, through a study of interface, are seeking to understand how the cerebral hemispheres process text. But studies, especially those regarding the textual integration, are still controversial. Some of them indicate the left hemisphere as being responsible for this function, while others point the right hemisphere as responsible for it. In order to contribute to this debate, we propose this research. It consists in a case study. Our research subject is a right hemisphere brain damage participant. For this study, we considerate the three levels of reading comprehension proposed by Kintsch and Van Dijk (1983), Van Dijk (2010): microstructure, macrostructure and situational model. Through this research, we want to expand our understanding of language functioning in pathology, its relation with the cerebral hemispheres, as well as its relation with other cognitive components.
