摘要：The article, using the materials by the travellers, considers geographical and demographical aspects of the lives of hillmen of the Black Sea Region in early XIX century. The notion hillmen includes the tribes of the Ubykhi, Shapsugi, Natukhaevtsy, Abazin, Dzhigets, Medoveevtsy and Sadzy. Special attention is attached to the antropologic image of a hillman of the Black Sea Region.
