摘要:Nowadays, integration of e-learning platforms hasbecome a key issue in e-learning. In order to facilitate thisintegration, most e-learning platforms depict their functionalityin terms of APIs and/or web services. Usually, APIs expose themost important functions in platforms. However, the availabilityof web services in every platform is very heterogeneous. Inaddition, every platform follows its own philosophy whendesigning its services. This paper analyses three of the mostsuccessful e-learning platforms (Blackboard, Moodle and Sakai),identifying their APIs and web services, and comparing theirreadiness for the development of a virtual campus based on theseservices. The goal of the paper is to facilitate the integration ofthese platforms in an information technology infrastructure.
