摘要:In the present work we analyze the performance oforthogonal and biorthogonal wavelet filters for imagecompression on variety of test images. The test images are ofdifferent size and resolution. Three distortion measures are used:entropy of reconstructed image, energy retained and redundancy.Analysis is done on the basis of entropy and redundancycalculation and it is found that Biorthogonal wavelets are superioras compare to orthogonal ones.
