  • 摘要:A study has been undertaken to provide abetter understanding of the liquefaction potentialevaluation. This paper discusses the evaluation ofseismically induced Liquefaction based on semiempiricalfield-based procedures using the StandardPenetration Test (SPT) profile of soil. This work hasbeen carried out to initiate such studies in the regionand to address the problem of seismically inducedliquefaction based on deterministic as well asprobabilistic approach. A case study for IITGuwahati with 3 different borehole locations has beencarried out for 3 different Earthquake MomentMagnitude of M=5, 6 and 7 respectively. Liquefactionwould be suspected to occur upto a depth of 15-18 m.The results obtained in probabilistic approach are ingood agreement with deterministic approach. ThisStudy provides a good understanding to account forthe liquefaction assessment based on two approaches.
