摘要:Information transmitted over the Internet includes text, audio, image, and other multimedia files. Indaily chores of life, images are used for varied purposes and as a result, the security of image data is a major concern.The proposed approach of encrypting images is based on chaotic maps. Every minute deviation in the initial conditionwill result in a totally different sequence. Chaos is a deterministic process but it appears to be random in nature. Theunique characteristics like sensitivity to initial conditions and unpredictability make them suitable for designingencryption algorithms. In the proposed method, image encryption is based on the use of multiple chaotic maps, inorder to meet the requirements of secured image transmission. Chaotic maps implemented are logistic map and skewtent map. The image encryption scheme uses an external secret key of 80-bit for logistic map and 128 bit for skewtent map. To make the cipher more robust against attacks, the fusion or combinations of logistic and skew tent mapshave been implemented. Statistical analysis and key sensitivity tests were done for different methods to validate theproposed method.
