摘要:Structural health monitoring (SHM) is related to the ability of monitoring the state and deciding the levelof damage or deterioration within aerospace, civil and mechanical systems. Recently, the advancements in sensortechnology have encouraged the use of low-cost smart sensors with on-board computation and wireless communicationcapabilities, making deployment of a dense array of sensors on large civil structures both feasible and economical. Atthe same time, the challenge lies in the development of the robust damage detection algorithms, which use theminimum computation and communication on any wireless smart sensor network (WSSN) for SHM. In this paper, anefficient algorithm based on the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average model(ARIMA), employable on WSSN todetect and locate the damage during continuous real time health monitoring of civil engineering structures is devised.The efficiency of the algorithm is illustrated using a numerical example of a simply supported concrete beam girder.
