摘要：Innovation activities play an important role in economic growth and can be considered as the engine of economies. This article presents the results of a study focused on indicators of innovation activities of selected European Union countries in direct link with two factors of economic growth. It is argued that a dependency between innovation activities and economy performance exists and the relationship of these two indicators is considered. The first part of the paper focuses on the theoretical approach in the field of study, and the second part describes the factors included in the calculations. The results are presented and discussed in the final part of the article.
