摘要：Due to continuous developments in Internet and other com munication technologies, major portionof information is kept electronically which has led to information security concern. Cryptography and steganography are two well-known techniques for information security. Both these techniques offer their own set of advantages but the present scenario suggests the need of an extraordinary security schem e. Due to the increasing quantity of information being shared over the internet, the security of network is turning out to be m ore significant. This paper presents a review of the num erous techniques proposed for image security with their contributions. In addition to this the paper proposes a technique using optimized AES and GA which helps in the security of an im age. Strong steganographic technique is proposed which helps to achieve high security.
