摘要:This paper Present to design meth od for determining the o ptimal p rop ortio nal-in tegral-derivative (PID) co ntroller param eters of an Au to matic Voltage Regulator (AVR) system u sin g th e particle swarm optimization (PSO) algo rithm an d Gen etic Algorithm (GA). The design goal is to minimize transien t resp onse by min imizing o versh oot, settling time and rise time of step respo nse. The proposed approach h ad sup erio r featu res, in cluding easy imp lemen tation, stable con vergence characteristic, and good co mputatio nal efficiency. Fast tu ning of o ptimum PID controller parameters yields high -qu ality solution. First an objective fu nction is d efin ed, and then by min imizing the ob jective functions using real-co ded GA and PSO, the optimal con troller parameters can b e assigned . Co mpare th e result of step response of AVR system b y using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Gen etic Algorithm (GA). Th e ob tained result of th e closed loop PSO-PID and GA-PID controller response to the unit step input sign al shows excellent perform ance o f th e PID contro ller.
