摘要:The purpose of this study is to examine the levels of burnout among university academicians in Turkey and to investigate the effects of demographics on levels of burnout among university academicians. A questionnaire-based study was conducted on 648 academicians working in the Universities of Turkey. Data were collected using a Turkish version of the Maslach Burnout Inventory. The burnout levels of the university academicians were found to be average. The results indicated that research assistants reported a higher level of emotional exhaustion than professors. On the other hand, research assistants indicated a higher level of depersonalization than associate professors, and research assistants reported a lower level of personal accomplishments than other academicians. Nevertheless, among the demographic variables, marital status, and age were significantly related to job burnout. Gender was not significantly related to burnout.
