摘要：Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) arebecoming more essential to wireless communications due togrowing popularity of mobile devices. On-demand videostreaming over wireless networks is an increasinglyimportant and attractive service to the mobile users.However, MANETs do not seem to effectively supportmultimedia applications and especially video transmissiondue to certain limitations like rapidly changing connectivity,network partitions, high error rates, collisions, limitedbandwidth and power constraints. In this paper, we proposedand implemented EMRP_R (an Efficient Multipath RoutingProtocol with Replication) based on the forecasting ofparameters of nodes or routes that effect the performance foron-demand video streaming in MANETs. The main objectiveof the proposed work is to provide a smooth on-demandvideo streaming with minimum packet loss. Simulation wascarried out in NS2 and the results obtained show that theproposed approach will improve the quality of on-demandvideo streaming when compared to the other existingapproaches.
