摘要:In infrastructure layer, cloud computingtechnology provides the possibility of using computing andstorage resources as a service according to the type ofrequirements. Moreover, it makes dynamic resourcemanagement feasible through generating an abstract layeron whole physical resources by virtualization. The goal ofcurrent research is to present intelligent water dropalgorithm to achieve a method for optimal installation ofvirtual machines on physical machines embedded in datacenter in order to reduce power consumption andconsequently reducing the number of active physical serversas well as decreasing waste amount of resources. In fact,presenting this algorithm results in reducing costs ofmaintenance and infrastructure’s service providers since thebiggest part of maintenance cost is related to energyconsumption. Therefore, the most benefit will be achievedby service provider once it can make energy consumptionthe least. CloudSim simulator has been used to simulate allIWD, GA, PSO, and MBFD algorithms with the purpose ofresource management in cloud computing. Outcome resultsshow that among current methods of intelligent water dropalgorithm, using MAD algorithm as overload detectionalgorithm and MMT algorithm as virtual machine selectionalgorithm can provide the most optimal answer for physicalresources’ management in cloud computing
